SUKKUR: Sindh Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) on Wednesday arrested Sindh Assembly Opposition Leader Haleem Adil Sheikh in a Jamshoro property transfer case.
The PTI leader went to Jamshoro anti-corruption office to record his statement in a case relating to a loan from a bank based on fake title deeds.
He recorded the statement in the office of ACE deputy director Zeeshan Memon, who then arrested him. This is the second time this month that the ACE has arrested Sheikh in the case, said Sheikh’s spokesman Raja Azhar. The spokesperson further said that Sheikh was already out on bail in a case related to 60 acres of land in Jamshoro. “This arrest appears to be in a new case,” he said.
An associate of the PTI chief said “we went to join the investigation but they arrested him in another case registered against him”, he confirmed. He added that Haleem Adil was currently being held at a police station.
Raja Azhar, Sheikh’s spokesman, told the media that the PTI leader was already out on bail in a land case in Jamshoro. However, he added that it looked like a new case. Haleem agreed to join the investigation but the ACE team arrested him in another case, his spokesperson said.
