Guide: How to transfer money from a BPI account to GCash

Without having to physically visit banks for their transactions, more and more consumers are relying on electronic wallets and banking apps to manage their accounts, transfer funds and pay their bills. In 2020 alone, the leading mobile payment app GCash saw transaction growth with over 6 million transactions per day. That alone shows how powerful mobile payment apps are and how convenient it is to have one.

Transfer money from BPI account to GCash

For those who haven’t yet learned how to use mobile banking apps, let us walk you through the steps to transfer money from your account to GCash. Specifically, read on to learn how to transfer money using your BPI account to GCash.

Link your BPI account to GCash

  1. Log in to your app and tap “Profile” at the bottom right of your screen.
  2. Choose “My linked accounts”, then select BPI.
  3. A new window will appear. Enter the username and password for your BPI account.
  4. Click on “Accept”.
  5. Once you have successfully linked your BPI account, you can now transfer funds from your BPI account to GCash.

Cash in on the GCash app using BPI

  1. Log in to your GCash application.
  2. Press “Cash out”.
  3. Select “BPI” under Online Banking.
  4. Enter the amount you wish to transfer, then press “Next”.
  5. Confirm the amount you want to transfer.
  6. Enter the six-digit authentication code that will be sent to your number to verify the transaction. Tap Submit.
  7. Once submitted, the screen will show you a confirmation message that the BPI to GCash Cash-In has been received.
  8. You can check your available balance on the GCash app home page to confirm the funds transfer.

Transfer funds from the BPI application to GCash

  1. Log in to your BPI Mobile application.
  2. Tap the menu in the upper left corner of the screen, then choose “Transfers.”
  3. Select “Transfer money”.
  4. Fill in the following details:
  • The BPI account you want to get the funds from
  • The amount you want to transfer
  • Where to transfer the amount (Transfer to another bank)
  • Transfer via QR or select a bank. Choose “GCash”.
  • Your GCash account number (mobile number)
  • Account name
  • Note (optional)

Note: There is a Php 25 transfer fee to be deducted from your account when you choose to transfer money from the BPI app to GCash.

5. Confirm your details and accept the terms and conditions.
6. Check your GCash application to confirm the transaction when successful.

Transfer money from BPI website to GCash app

  1. Log in to your account via online.bpi.com.ph.
  2. From the menu, select “Transfer money”.
  3. Fill in the following details:
  • The BPI account you want to get the funds from
  • The amount you want to transfer
  • Where to transfer the amount (Transfer to another bank)
  • Transfer via QR or select a bank. Choose “GCash”.
  • Your GCash account number (mobile number)
  • Account name
  • Note (optional)

4. Confirm the details of the transfer. Enter the OTP.
5. Check your GCash application to confirm the transaction when successful.

IMPORTANT Notes

  • You can only cash up to 50,000 Php per day from your BPI account to GCash.
  • GCash or BPI representatives will never ask you for your one-time password, authentication code, MPIN, or online passwords.
  • The collection of a BPI account linked to GCash is free.
  • When transferring money from your BPI application to GCash, a transfer fee of 25 Php applies.
  • The minimum transaction limit is Php 1 per transaction
